Dr David Norcross, BchD (UK)

Head Surgeon

Dr Dave Norcross Dental Surgeon

Dr David Norcross is the founder of Perth’s dedicated dental implant clinic, Perth Dental Implant Centre and has been restoring patients’ smiles using dental implants since 2008.

Dr Norcross is one of the few clinicians around the world that has restricted his clinical practice exclusively to surgical and implant dentistry. He has a keen interest in regenerative bone and gum grafting procedures as well as full mouth rehabilitation with dental implants using the All-on-4® technique.

Dr Norcross opened Perth Dental Implant Centre in response to a lack of affordable and reliable implant dentistry solutions available within the community. Dr Norcross is passionate about providing high-quality missing teeth solutions that patients can afford to maintain throughout their lifetime. The clinic accepts all new patients and receives referrals from general dentists inexperienced in the field of dental implants.

Dr Norcross’ experience spans over a decade of cases and attendance at advanced implant dentistry training courses and residencies all over the globe. These include the Master Clinician in Implant Dentistry Programme gaining certificates from the Global Institute for Dental Education (gIDE) and UCLA

Dr Norcross is a key opinion leader for Nobel BioCare and has mentored many dentists in WA and other states. He delivers dental implant training and live surgery demonstrations for new and emerging dentists and places over 300 dental implants each year.

He has completed clinical residencies at MALO Clinic in Melbourne and Portugal learning about advanced techniques in full arch rehabilitation using the All-On-4® technique. He is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and Australian Society of Implant Dentistry. His close team all share his passion and commitment to implant dentistry.

In 2024, David launched the Full-Arching training framework for dental practitioners.

Patrick Barrett-Lennard, Adv Dip Dent Pros

Dental Technician (Dental Engineering)

Patrick-Barrett-Lennard-Dental-Technician

Patrick Barrett-Lennard has almost two decades’ experience custom-designing high quality dental prosthetics, including fixed All-On-4® implant bridges and overdentures.

In 2005, Patrick Barrett-Lennard completed a Certificate 3 in Dental Technology, before completing an Advanced Diploma of Dental Prosthetics at the Central Institute Of Technology in Perth, in 2012 and also an Implant Retained Overdenture Course at RMIT in 2018.

For 12 years, Patrick was employed by and managed one of the largest dental prosthetic clinics and laboratories in Perth. His passion for designing natural-looking prosthetics free of imperfections, drove him to establish his very own dental laboratory, Dental Engineering in 2014. Owning and running his own laboratory has allowed Patrick to maintain complete control over every product he manufactures, from the initial model pouring stage right to the final polishing process.

Since opening Dental Engineering, Patrick has worked with many prosthodontists and high-profile dentists in Perth, including Dr Norcross. He has expanded his skillset and equipment to be able to provide a wide range of products including milled titanium implant bars and bridges (also known as immediate final bridges).

When Patrick isn’t at work, he enjoys spending time with family, camping and 4×4 touring, as well as custom-designing one-of-kind products in woodworking, blacksmithing, metalworking and furniture fabrication.

In her role, Courtney most enjoys witnessing the change in patients’ willingness to smile more openly as they complete their treatment journey.

Choosing An Implant Dentist

Did you know there’s no such thing as an implant dentist? There are general dentists and specialists, that’s it.

Skilled and experienced general dentists who practice implant dentistry have no recognised title in Australia. That’s why it’s important to choose a dentist you trust and feel comfortable with, when it comes to treatment. We recommend checking for these trust factors in a dentist:

  • Qualifications
  • Experience of Dentist (performing surgery & placing implants)
  • Experience of Dental technician (designing the teeth)
  • Accreditation and affiliations
  • Implant system and replacement teeth quality & materials
  • Affordability and payment plans
  • Sedation options
  • Infection control measures
  • Technology
  • Aftercare
  • Accessibility

Frequently asked questions

When it comes to performing dental implant surgery, there are no regulations on the amount of training a general dentist must complete before they can place dental implants. A general dentist may complete a 1 or 2-day course and begin placing implants with little experience. However, studies have shown that experience significantly affects the success of dental implant treatment.

PDIC founder, Dr David Norcross has attended various advanced implant dentistry programs and residencies, including a 1-year Master Clinician in Implant Dentistry program at the Global Institute for Dental Education (gIDE) and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), clinical residencies at both the Malo Clinic in Melbourne and in Portugal (home of All-On-4) learning about advanced techniques in full arch rehabilitation using the All-On-4® technique. He is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and Australian Society of Implant Dentistry and has restricted his clinical practice to surgical and implant dentistry.

When you choose Dr Norcross for implant surgery, your smile is in experienced hands.

For a single dental implant, the treatment can take 3-9 months to complete and a number of appointments. We may also need to take x-rays of the implant and bone at different stages of the treatment. We do not charge for additional visits or x-rays required during your implant treatment.

Dental implant costs usually start from $4250 for a single tooth implant. Total treatment costs can vary depending on your unique needs, how many implants you’re having placed, whether bone or gum grafting is needed, the dental implant system you choose, crown or bridge materials and the experience of the prosthetist manufacturing your teeth.

At Perth Dental Implant Centre, we develop a dental implant treatment plan to perfectly meet your dental and financial needs for the best outcome. During your initial consultation, we assess your suitability for dental implants, all cost options, payment plan solutions and check any private health fund rebates you may be entitled to, using our HICAPS machine.
